I'm a CTO, technology strategist, and published author with over 25 years in digital. In 2026 I was named one of the BIMA 100 AI & Tech Pioneers, recognising my contribution to shaping Britain's digital future.

I'm currently CTO at MSQ DX, a digital impact company, where I help organisations navigate complex technology challenges, build effective delivery models, and ship technology that users love. Previously I was VP of Technology for EMEA at CI&T, leading AI adoption strategy across the region and speaking on stages including London Tech Week and Tech Show London.

While most AI commentators emerged in 2023, I've been building, writing, and thinking publicly about AI since 2013 — when I wrote Hello, World! — and I published my first article on the gap between AI hype and AI capability in May 2018, five years before ChatGPT. I'm a builder, not a researcher: I earn the right to speak through delivery.

Born in Johannesburg in 1976, I spent my first 25 years in a country moving from apartheid to democracy, studied at the University of Cape Town, then relocated to the UK. I now live in Hitchin with my wife and two children, and still make time to write and photograph.
